The Best Medicine - Food, duh!

I haven't been feeling 100% the past few days. Symptoms: a sore throat, a cough ever-growing and a fuzzy head. Not ideal at the beginning of my last ever semester of college. So yesterday, I decided to whip up some super nutritious and easy to eat food stuffs.

Vegetable Soup

Surprisingly easy to make and filled to the brim with a ton of good things. Basically, get all the veggies you want together; peel, cut and chop, through everything in a pot with some boiling water and a vegetable stock cube and blend when cooked and hey presto! you got yourself something delicious.

I used all of the above (I'm a big fan of broccoli). Bowls contain chickpeas and mixed herbs.

Firstly, fry the leek and red onion.

Then throw in everything else with your water and stock cube.

Cook for 20/30 mins, then blend with something like this.

Add some chia and sesame seeds to the top and, of course, a side order of bread.

Yum!

Banana Berry Smoothie

I also made a smoothie with the above. Bowls contain chia seeds, frozen blackberries and raspberries. I love this recipe! Keep the smoothie stored in a jug, cover with some cling film and pop it in the fridge. Ideal for those college mornings when you've pressed the snooze button five too many times and you're running out the door.

I'm feeling a lot better this evening so hopefully should be back to full health in no time.

Until next time,

(I have some exciting news!),

I could take your photo if you'd like?

I was a very lucky girl this Christmas Time. For the good old 21st I received some great gifts and amongst those were some gadgets. Taking photos is a major hobby of mine whether it be on a disposable camera, a digital one or stealing my sister's fancy cameras. So The Two bought me this lovely white Fujifilm bridge camera. It's insanely pretty!...and because of that, I've kind of just been staring at it. A day of figuring out how to use it to the best of its abilities needs to be done.

I'm a woman obsessed. I got an iPhone 4S and never have I been more protective over something in my life. This pretty cover from Accessorize helps me not break the screen when I forget I leave it on my lap.

To continue with my obsession of photographing most things around me, I've become an Instagram fanatic. So, follow me! My username is ciaraaaharte. I'd love to have a creep on your photos.

I've been brave and started to post some outfit posts on there. I don't know why but the thought of just taking pictures of myself by myself showing off what I'm wearing freaks me out a little. But I do love looking at other peoples outfit photos so I'm slowly getting used to the idea.

If anyone has any cool apps that they enjoy and would recommend, please do inform me.

Until next time,

Thursday 2 January 2014

The year is 2014.

HELLO THERE. A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!

New Year's Eve just kind of crept up on me. With exams, birthday celebrations and Christmas on top of that it sort of slipped my mind. Once the 31st came, I couldn't believe it. Therefore, a lot of my reflection on 2013 has been done in the past 24 hours of this new year, either whilst drinking green apple vodka or taking people's food orders at work. I really did have an amazing year. I've obtained the MalPals for life along with an appreciation for some of my oldest and dearest friends. Gratitude for family and the great island that is Ireland is a newly acquired feeling after living abroad. Although constantly confused about my future and what I'll get up to, I'm genuinely excited to see what happens.

A very happy 2014 to you all, sending all my love to you and yours. I hope that all of your dreams come true and your wishes are granted.
